Hometown Pride Application Form

Application deadline: Friday, May 15, 2026 at 5 pm. Eligible applicants should complete the application form below to be considered for participation in Hometown Pride in 2026. Please note: Applications are accepted by invitation only – if you have not been invited to apply by Keep Iowa Beautiful, please do not submit this form. This form should be submitted once for each group of communities (6-8 towns). (Please do not submit this form on behalf of one individual town). Keep Iowa Beautiful will review all applications and select one group to join Hometown Pride, with an expected start date of fall 2026. If necessary, Keep Iowa Beautiful may request additional information or clarifications from applicants after the deadline in order to make its decision.

The ideal number of communities is 6-8 (within 1 county or spread between 2 adjacent counties). Do not include more than 9 communities. Please note: Each community listed here must have a city council resolution uploaded in the “Commitments” section below.

Program Readiness: Please state why you believe that this group of communities is a good fit for Hometown Pride at this moment in time (1-3 paragraphs).(Required)

Include in your answer: why Hometown Pride is needed, the readiness of community members to begin the work, and any on-going local initiatives or assets that will help support the success of the Hometown Pride program.

Commitments from Participants and Funders

Please provide documentation of the 5-year commitments from participating cities and any other funders.

Funding Overview: Please list all entities that will contribute to the $20,000 annual match, along with the amount they will contribute annually (Total amount listed should add up to $20,000). Please note that this amount will be paid every year for 5 years.(Required)

City Council Resolutions (upload as one PDF) – All participating cities listed in the "Community Partners" section must pass a city council resolution affirming their endorsement of the program and their financial contribution. You must use the resolution template provided (template linked below).(Required)

County funding commitment (if applicable): If County government(s) is/are contributing funding to the annual funding match, please include an approved resolution or other official voting action of the board of supervisors that affirms their 5-year funding commitment. (If you are not receiving funding from the County, you may skip this field)

Optional: Fiscal Coordinator – A local or regional entity may wish to identify themselves as the fiscal coordinator, meaning they will take responsibility to ensure that the $20,000 payment is collected each year, and will ensure that new funds are secured in the event that a partner community does not fulfill their financial obligation. If so, please include a brief, signed letter from a representative of the entity that will serve in this role. A fiscal coordinator is NOT required, but will benefit your application score.
