Preserve Iowa Summit
Registration for the Preserve Iowa Summit in Newton is now open! The City of Newton and the Newton Historic Preservation Commission have been working hard to make 2019 a great Summit.

Registration for our preservation partners, which includes historic preservation commission members and staff, Main Street volunteers and staff, and current members of Preservation Iowa, Association of Iowa Archaeologists and the Iowa Archaeological Society is only $55. Register today as this rate is only good through May 24th. After May 24th, the rate goes up to $155.

Thursday afternoon, our keynote speaker, Bernice Radle of Buffalove, will speak on her work to revive vacant and underutilized places and spaces in Buffalo, New York. Bernice will be followed by Iowa’s historic preservation award ceremony. Come and get inspired!
Breakout sessions will take place on Thursday afternoon and all day Friday.
Preservation Iowa will sponsor an exhibit hall on Friday.
On Saturday, there will be special workshops on a variety of topics of interest to historic preservation commission members and those working in history museums and historical societies. Separate registration for Saturday only is available.
Plus, as always there are opportunities to network with fellow preservationists! If you arrive early, please come to the pre-Summit gathering on Wednesday evening.
A special reception on Thursday night at the historic Maytag Complex.
